300th Anniversary Celebration of Our Parish

We have entered the year marking the 300th anniversary of the founding of our St. Martin’s parish in 1726. To mark this momentous occasion, there are several events planned for the coming year at The Fork Church.

The first of these is a talk by the Rev’d Dr. Robert Prichard, Professor Emeritus of Christianity in America at the Virginia Theological Seminary, on The Established Anglican Church in St. Martin’s Parish, 1726-1776 on Friday, February 27 (rescheduled from January 30). The dinner will be at 5:30 pm and the talk at 7 pm.

Please make reservations for dinner (suggested donation $15 per person). Contact TheForkChurch@gmail.com  for dinner reservations. No reservations needed for the talk only.

Other upcoming 300th anniversary events:

  • Sunday, March 15—Lenten Evensong
  • Friday, May 29—Dinner & Talk from the Rev’d Charles Joy
  • Saturday, August 15—Hanover 250 “Voices of Freedom” Tour
  • Friday, September 11—Dinner & Talk from Mr. Alastair Macdonald
  • Wednesday, November 11—Eucharist for our Patronal Feast and 300th Celebration

Stay tuned as we continue to discuss ways to celebrate and include other churches and groups, and explore ways going forward for our treasured church as we discern who God is calling us to be.
